Odiri Ighamre

Creative Writing. Coaching. Facilitation.

I’m a writer and artist with a lifelong love of storytelling – rooted in African heritage and shaped by a journey of learning, creating and sharing.

My work is grounded in creativity, care and a commitment to community. This is my space to share the exciting projects I’m working on – and the stories still to come.

About

I embrace my journey – it is an act of gathering and learning in continuum – as Mother, Grandmother and active participant in life. All of my work falls into four areas: Storytelling both orally and through writing; work with and for young people and facilitating self-learning for myself and others.

Upcoming

She’s Home

This memoir is the first book of a trilogy, a composite novel of ten chapters told through the lens of a girl’s discordant journey, living in a series of houses that she is either travelling to or from.

It provides an insight into how fragile life was and is for African immigrants in the UK.

“Embrace fear, it places the senses on alert and prepares us for the leap”
